MACLeads has partner with local institutions and organizations based in African and Caribbean countries while building upon longstanding connections to host McMaster student participants. We are also partnering with Canadian groups and offices within McMaster to develop and deliver a holistic and well-supported training and placement experience for students along with culturally appropriate orientation programs to prepare them for their work/study abroad.

University for Development Studies

The University for Development Studies (UDS) located in Tamale, Ghana. UDS is an innovative institution that bridges the gap between academic theory and practical community development in northern Ghana and the rest of the country. Through constructive interaction between academia and local communities, UDS strives to foster the holistic development of Ghana. At MACLEADS, we have had the privilege of collaborating with esteemed faculty members at UDS including Dr. Jasper Ayelazuno, Dr. Rahaina Tahiru, and Dr. Ishmael Ayanoore. The University of the West Indies – Cave Hill Campus

The renowned University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus in Barbados known for its academic excellence, innovation, and commitment to community engagement. At MACLEADS, we have been fortunate to collaborate with Dr. Angela Alleyne, an esteemed faculty member in the Department of Biological and Chemical Sciences. Dr. Alleyne’s expertise and contributions have been invaluable to the MACLeads Program. Global Skills Opportunity

Global Skills Opportunity, a program funded by Employment and Social Development Canada. The program is jointly administered by Colleges and Institutes Canada and Universities Canada, and is designed to provide multi-year projects to post-secondary institutions (PSIs) to enable them to prepare young Canadians for future opportunities. Through this program, students are provided with international learning opportunities that are tailored to meet the specific needs of each institution. McMaster University: Student Success Centre – Global Experiences

McMaster University Student Success Centre Global Experience Team. This team provides a wide range of services and opportunities for students seeking international learning experiences, including study abroad programs, international internships, and service-learning opportunities. Through our partnership with the Global Experience Team, MACLEADS has been able to provide students with exciting opportunities to engage in research and learning projects in the global south.
